Why do you love information sciences and/or teaching?

I love information sciences because the discipline brings together information, technology, and people. As a profoundly deaf researcher, I study how students with disabilities leverage technologies to engage with information and learn. In the classroom, I strive to instill in my students an appreciation for how information and communication technologies empower citizens to participate in society.
