Whether attending online or in-person, we at SIS believe participation in professional conferences is an important part of the student experience. The new SIS Online Conference Registration Award (OCRA) is a new program that provides registration support to MSIS students wishing to attend online professional conferences in the information sciences (IS).

OCRA is available to any MSIS student wishing to participate in a professional IS-related conference, including those presenting work. Students who are presenting work at an in-person conference should apply for an SIS Student Travel Award, and students who are not presenting work at an in-person conference should apply for an SIS Conference Ambassador Travel (CAT) Award. All MSIS students are eligible for the OCRA award, including full and part-time students, as well as on-campus and distance education students.

Award recipients may be expected to work with the SIS Communication Specialist to share their experiences at the conference with the SIS community.
