Liberty and Justice FOR ALL – An Introduction to Addressing Systemic Racism from the Highlander Center

February 4 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EST

Alumni Webinar Series

This event is open to SIS alumni and students.

Join us for an introductory session on social justice and the history of the Highlander Center

Highlander Center started in 1932 in rural Tennessee and the founders made an early decision to bring Black and white people together in labor workshops to fight both racism and economic struggles in the South. Nearly 90 years later, Highlander continues this work.  This session will share some history, reflections and ideas about the intersection of organizing, spaces, information and research and the role of libraries.
